"Career Opportunity in Power Sector"

Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited (EGCB) under Power Division is looking for competent person for immediate appointment to the post of Executive Director (Planning & Development) from Bangladeshi Nationals who are interested to serve the company and ready to accept the challenging job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Executive Director (Planning & Development) is one of the members of management in the company who reports through the Managing Director to the Board of Directors. He is responsible for technical studies, Planning, development of projects, polices & strategies, engineering, construction, supervision of all running & upcoming projects of the company. He is also responsible for providing proper assistance to the Managing Director for ensuring timely completion of projects, financing, and compliance issues of the projects. Besides these, he is responsible for ensuring proper completion of the assignments of the departments under his jurisdiction.

Educational qualification & Experience:

(a) At least graduate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from any recognized University/Institute (b) No third Division/Class at any stage of the academic career shall be acceptable. Candidates passed in the grading system must possess at least a CGPA 3.0 on a scale of 5.0 and a CGPA 2.5 on a scale of 4.0.

(c) At least 20 years working experience in public power sector utilities

(d) At least 5(Five) years' experience in senior managerial position (SE/Equivalent or above) with at least 1(One) year as chief engineer or additional chief engineer in public sector power utilities. (e) Must demonstrate experience in planning/design/project implementation of power system and experience in public procurement etc.

(f) Experience and knowledge in formulating documents related to Preliminary Development Project Proposal (PDPP), Development Project Proposal (DPP), Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Gas Supply agreement (GSA)/ Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA), Project Completion Report (PCR), Pre-feasibility Study and tender and contract especially for large projects will get preference.

(g) Must demonstrate strong participatory leadership ability and knowledge about Integrated Management System (IMS).

(h) Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Total Quality Management (TQM), Preventive Maintenance and Corporate Governance.

(1) Must have strong communication skill in Bengali & English (writing & oral) including working experience using computer.

Age limit: Maximum 60 years on the last date of submission of application. No affidavit of age is acceptable.

Remuneration Package: Monthly basic pay Tk.1,49,000/-. Annual increment as per provision of the company; House rent allowance, medical support, Full-time transport, Group Insurance, other allowances and Fringe Benefits as per Company's Rules/Policies/Provisions.

Terms and Conditions:

1. The appointment may be made for maximum 3(three) years. It may be extended upon satisfactory performance. The retirement age is 62 years.

2. Persons serving in Government, semi-government, autonomous or state-owned organization should apply through proper channel.
